International Program Development

International program development positions and supports AIHI to take a leadership role in technical and development assistance to strengthen the health systems and workforce of the Asia Pacific region. AIHI manages and implements complex health sector projects in the areas of HIV/AIDS, harm reduction, immunisation, malaria vaccine technology and human resource development. AIHI staff and associates are also engaged as technical advisors for project design, monitoring and final evaluation, to ensure a truly collaborative approach to projects.

Partnership & Alliances

You can learn a lot about someone by the company they keep. AIHI pursues a partnership approach to the planning and implementation of international health interventions and prioritises working with in-country partners and communities in the Asia Pacific to ensure sustainable outcomes. Our approach embraces cross-cultural and institutional learning and exchange, and we link with non-government organisations, regional institutes and universities, and funding agencies and donors. AIHI forges alliances in the fields of education, research, capacity building and leadership development and for the scaling-up of long-term regional responses to communicable and non-communicable disease.

Marketing & Promotions

Given the regional scope of our work and the emphasis we place on neglected and emergent health needs, communication plays a crucial role in greater public understanding of AIHI's work and lessons learned from program work, research findings and partnership collaboration.

Governance & Management

Effective governance and management systems are intrinsic to the success of projects and of the Institute as a whole. AIHI values ethical and equitable management practices and provides a policy framework which encourages staff to achieve the highest standards of performance and professional development. Financial security and good governance are supported by a Board and SubCommittee structure that monitors strategic planning and policy, risk assessment, compliance and performance.
