AIHI’s Privacy Statement aims to provide a confidential and
secure means of communicating with site visitors and of sourcing
and recruiting consultants for our international project work. This
statement is issued in compliance with the Information Privacy Act
2000 and reflects a commitment by the Australian International Health
Institute (AIHI) to the protection and security of personal information
disclosed via our website. This statement outlines the type of information
that AIHI receives via the website and the procedures followed for
its disclosure, security and storage.
AIHI website
AIHI manages its own website without the assistance of an external
provider. The AIHI website is located on the general server of the
University of Melbourne but is password protected.
When you visit our site, the following information is supplied
by your browser:
- Your server address
- Your operating system (e.g. Windows, Mac)
- Your IP address
- Your top level domain name (e.g. .gov, .com, .au)
- The date and time of your visit to the site
- The pages you accessed and documents downloaded
We do not use or disclose any information that is registered by
your browser without your prior written consent or where it is required
by law.
Collection of information
AIHI receives personal information from site visitors when you
send us an email message or complete and submit an online form.
AIHI will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal
information is not misused, lost or vulnerable to unauthorised access
in any way.
Emails
AIHI respects the confidentiality of this correspondence and uses
the information in accordance with the purpose for which it has
been provided. AIHI will not add you email address to in-house mailing
lists, unless provided for that purpose. AIHI does not exchange,
sell or forward any personal information to marketing or recruitment
agencies.
Online forms
AIHI requires interested consultants to complete a registration
form and submit a CV in hardcopy or electronically. This information
is used solely for the purpose of assessing a consultant’s
suitability for an AIHI project. The information will be used in-house
and any transfer of this information to another agency will only
be done with your prior written consent. After 12 months, AIHI will
seek your permission for your information to be kept on file and
updated. Unauthorised information will be destroyed after this time.
Links
The AIHI website provides links to external sites that are recommended
on the basis of interest and relevance to visitors. By clicking
onto another site link, the visitor is no longer protected by the
AIHI privacy statement.
