Professor
Terry Nolan
Head of School, School of Population Health, The University of Melbourne
Professor Terry Nolan is Foundation Professor and Head of
the School of Population Health and the Department of Public Health,
and is Associate Dean in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health
Studies, and in the School of Graduate Studies at the University of
Melbourne. He did his paediatric training at Royal Children's Hospital
Melbourne and Montreal Children's Hospital, Canada, where he also
obtained a PhD in epidemiology and biostatistics from McGill University
in Montreal.
In addition to AIHI, Terry is the Deputy Chair of Research Committee
of the National Health and Medical Research Committee (NHMRC) where
he has been significantly involved in new research policy around the
‘reshaping of NHMRC’ process, particularly in relation
to growing research capacity in Australia. He has published over 100
peer-reviewed papers, book chapters and government reports. His own
research includes clinical trials of new children's vaccines and epidemiologic
studies of immunisation uptake, and evaluation of new models of immunisation
program delivery.
