David Gilmour
Company Director
David Gilmour is a company director and investor. In these capacities, he is involved with a number of businesses including recently buying the Ansett Flight Simulator Centre with his business partner. He serves on several boards including the Australian International Health Institute of which he is chairman, an organisation attached to the University of Melbourne focused on addressing international health issues in developing countries, and the International Diabetes Institute for which he is also Chairman of the Paul Zimmet Diabetes Research Fund.
Prior to this, he spent most of his career as a management consultant. In his consulting work he specialised in business strategy, organisation, pricing, technology and operational improvement issues across a variety of industry sectors including healthcare, telecommunications, retailing, IT, internet/e-commerce and financial services.
David’s most recent consulting position was as a Director and Vice President in The Boston Consulting Group’s Melbourne office. In addition to his client work, he founded and was Global Leader of BCG’s Pricing Practice which he built over 3 years to nearly 10 per cent of the firm’s global revenues. He was also head of the Technology and Communications Practice Area in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to joining BCG, David spent three years as the founding partner of the Australian offices of the Mitchell Madison Group. His initial six years in consulting were spent with McKinsey & Company in their Melbourne, London and Madrid offices.
